HKC Construction Inspires Future Tradespeople at Ontario’s Level Up
At HKC Construction, we’re passionate about bridging the skilled trades gap and empowering the next generation of builders. Recently, our team joined forces with the Ontario Government and Skills Ontario at the 2024 Level Up Skilled Trades Convention —a dynamic event showcasing the critical role of skilled trades in shaping tomorrow’s workforce. Here’s a glimpse into our experience and why initiatives like Level Up matter.
Why Level Up Matters
By 2026, Ontario faces a staggering shortage of over 100,000 skilled trade workers. Events like Level Up are vital to inspiring youth to explore rewarding careers in trades, from construction to automotive repair. Helen Mes of HKC Construction emphasized, “This expo isn’t just about tools—it’s about sparking curiosity and showing students the incredible opportunities in hands-on industries.”
HKC’s Commitment to the Next Generation
As Helen and the HKC team explored the expo, the energy was electric. From robotics to carpentry, students engaged with vendors, tried equipment, and asked questions. “Events like Level Up remind us that our industry’s future depends on nurturing curiosity today,” Helen noted.
Join Us in Building Tomorrow’s Workforce
At HKC Construction, we believe in action over words. By partnering with Skills Ontario and supporting events like Level Up, we’re investing in a future where skilled trades thrive. Whether it’s through mentorship, education, or hands-on experiences, we’re committed to closing the skills gap—one student at a time.
